Guta Ra Jehova
Lesson 71

Matenga’s Journey to Gunde

Two days after Easter, Matenga set off from the Guta and went to Gunde, her home in Chitsunge, where she had first seen all this work.

She began to call the messengers of the mountains, from where the work of Matenga’s spirit originated.

Before they set off, Matenga dressed the people who were possessed by the spirits of the messengers—those of the Mountain and of the Muwuyu tree; they entered the Mudzino and bid farewell to the whole congregation .

They left in about three vehicles; they traveled in a most wonderful manner.

As they traveled, they sang the hymnAs they traveled, they sang the hymn "Lord , We Have Gathered, We Have Gathered"; they traveled singing all night until they reached Gunde with the spirits of the messengers that were present.

They arrived at night while the people were asleep.

But people came that very night, in great multitudes, without anyone having called them.

They had only heard the sound.

When morning came, the people gathered in an awe-inspiring multitude to see Matenga’s work.

They went to the mountain; afterwards, they went again to the Muwuyu tree.

Some of them were shown awe-inspiring things.

When they finished ministering, they returned home and found it full of a great many people.

When Matenga stood among them, filled with power , she preached through that work.

Now these people heard the words of salvation .

Some of them asked, saying, “How can we be saved? We want to live.”

Then Matenga saw their thoughts and said, “Whoever wants to be saved should go to the Mabarani to confess all the sins they committed against God while they were still in the world.”

This satisfied them in their hearts.

Many people stood up and went to confess; they had hands laid on their heads, and some who had backslidden had hands laid on their heads a second time.

For they had returned to those deeds of which they had once said, “They will never do them again.”

Matenga then began laying hands on their heads, both the old and the new.

They were already sitting in a line on the ground, with their feet and hands stretched out.

Matenga stood over the first one, who looked up to heaven, standing with hands raised.

Afterwards, she began to place her holy hand on the head of the first, and the second; by the time she reached the fifth, all the people in that line had fallen to the ground because of unclean spirits or demons.

For they were overawed by the shining Holy Spirit , which burns demons.

They all fell to the ground like pumpkins or melons because of the evil spirits that possessed them.

Then Matenga cried out with a loud voice to cast out the evil spirits.

Then the evil spirits fled from those people and went into the wilderness.
