The Great Gombwe
Matenga’s fame had spread very far.
And some wise men desired to see Matenga herself.
Then Chaminuka, the great Gombwe, came.
Having heard the fame that there was Matenga , he also came to the City of God ; there was a white man called Doctor, and another person, making three of them.
That Doctor was a prominent one from Harare.
Having entered the Messenger’s house, he said, “We want to speak with you.”
Matenga said, “First confess, then I will lay hands on your head, and then I will speak with you.”
He said, “I will not have hands laid on my head by a woman.”
Matenga said, “If you have rejected Matenga’s law, you may leave this place.”
Upon hearing these words, he almost fell to the ground, then he fled and was never seen again, nor did he speak.
The Doctor said, “If I had known that this is what you would do upon arrival, I would not have come with you.”
They all then left without having accomplished anything there.
They were all amazed by Matenga’s radiance, and then they all departed.
