The Passing of Matenga from the Earth at Chashamba in the Land of Zvimba

1 Now my brethren, it was a difficult time, a time when everyone’s heart was troubled.

2 It was a time that changed heaven and earth; the sky flashed and thundered with an awe-inspiring power that had never happened on earth before.

3 Whether you looked at the sun or into the clouds, you saw only wonders.

4 But in your heart, you wondered, what time has this become?

5 There at Chashamba, the time had come for her to ascend to heaven.

6 That day was a precious day, and an awe-inspiring day; the day was the 25th of December 1960.

7 In that house, there was light, there was thunder, and there was awe; a Messenger descended and spoke with Gomo.

8 He said to Gomo, “Take Matenga and bring her to the City right now.”

9 It is an awe-inspiring miracle to speak with an angel from heaven; praise be to this Father.

10 Then the whole sky thundered, and rain fell in an awe-inspiring way; the whole sky flashed with great awe.

11 When they saw that Matenga had fully passed away, they began to call and send word to the other children of Matenga .

12 Then they took Matenga and placed her in the vehicle of a certain man from Bulawayo.

13 Then some of them were seized by power , others were weeping, tears and sorrow mingling together.

14 They set off with Matenga’s body and took it to the City at Zvimba.

15 Before they arrived there, the vehicle went silent as it approached the river, so they ended up pushing it until they reached the City .

16 Then thousands upon thousands of people gathered from all the regions of the land, coming to mourn their Creator .

17 Then they placed Matenga in an existing house that had two rooms, where she had once stayed in the year 1958.

18 And that day became a portent and a wonder in Africa, the departure of Matenga .

19 We are left as mere orphans; it is now up to Matenga herself to look upon us in our lives.
