The Arrival of the News in the City of Matenga’s Passing from this Earthly Life

1 The senior officials and leaders there saw that truly the Creator has now passed from this earthly life.

2 They went to deliver a report to the Government in Chinhoyi.

3 They told the District Commissioner of Chinhoyi, and he then sent that message to the District Commissioner of Mutare.

4 His message said, “Tell their City that Matenga has passed from this earthly life.”

5 When the message reached the District Commissioner in Mutare, he sent his official, who came to the City and told Chief Zimunya.

6 He said, “You must take her Jeep; perhaps you will bring her here.”

7 Chief Zimunya came with that message into the Divi , which was full of people.

8 There was preaching that was very awe-inspiring.

9 It was now 3 o'clock during the service, as the sun was setting.

10 Then Chief Zimunya said, “I have received a message brought by the District Official, just now at the gate there.”

11 It said, “Matenga has passed from this earthly life; she is no longer here, she has gone to her heaven.”

12 Then all the people were seized as if by electricity for that short moment.

13 Some fell to the ground and fainted, some were seized by power , and others began to wail.

14 Some began to throw themselves on the ground, and others left the Mudivi being carried, no longer able to walk at all.

15 Then the whole Divi thundered with power that was very awe-inspiring.

16 Then the people left the Mudivi and gathered at Matenga’s Ark.

17 This is the miracle: before the news reached the City on that Sunday, the chiefs marched in front of the guards.

18 When we were at the gate, the people were dancing, the guards were there, and the drum was sounding.

19 The earth was thundering along with the heavens; it filled everyone with awe, wondering what was happening.
